Day 9: Hope

The gospel puts hope into a different light than what the world sees hope as. The world seems to see hope as something you really just. . .wait for. For example "I hope the weather gets better tonight." Or, "I hope I did well on that test." As I was reading the little summary about hope on the Church website, they put hope into a different light. Hope is real. Jesus Christ suffered for our sins so that we don't have to just hope, we can have a "firm hope".

Moroni stated "Whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." Hope in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ means we believe in what they say, that we trust that in the end, they will take care of us and it will all work out. It's not just waiting to see if it will, it's following the teachings of Christ and realizing for ourselves along the way that what they teach is true. While choosing to follow Christ, we are choosing to have hope for a greater life than this one.
